Library Friends Host Annual Tasting Event

The Friends of the Atlanta Public Library present the 8th Annual Taste of Atlanta/Queen City on Friday, October 6, 2006 at Indian Hills Country Club from 11 AM until 1:30 PM. Local restaurants and businesses provide food and door prizes for the annual event that has become a favorite of not only library supporters but the community as well.

The Friends work tirelessly throughout the year to provide not only funds for library needs not covered by the yearly operational budget, but thousands of volunteer hours that make the library a valuable community asset. Recently the Friends have assisted with the library's renovations projects. New shelving, work stations and surveillance system have been funded by the Friends. A Louisiana library in Jefferson Parrish has also been adopted by the Friends to help in the library's recovery fromthe effects of Katrina.
