Chamber Chatter Grows Louder!

9/22/2006
The Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce is dusting itself off and increasing its visibility in the community. With renewed enthusiasm, Chamber members are improving established programs and creating new services for businesses. After four months on the job, Chamber President Angela Guillory is pleased with the community’s response to staff changes and special events like Moonlight Madness, the New Teachers’ Luncheon and Tri-State Cruisers' downtown gathering in early June.

As summer drew to a close, Rick Mauldin won the Chamber’s Largest Watermelon contest with a 197 pound giant. Century Bank and the well designed garden at 707 North Louise Street were chosen by the Chamber’s Beautification Committee as the Summer Season’s Outstanding grounds.

The next big annual events that will draw visitors from within the Atlanta Area and from afar are the Holiday Open House on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and the Christmas Parade scheduled for December 2nd. Both events involve local businesses, schools, and civic organizations. Call Angela or Beverly at the Chamber (903-796-3296) for more information on these and the many activities presented by a growing community asset.
